Flurry Of 'Shooting Stars' To Zoom Across The Skies This Week

This week there s going to be a lot of shooting stars. Many children are hoping that they're going to get a lot of presents for Christmas. But when ever I see a shooting star I make a wish that Children with cancer get rid of it because I am feeling empathetic for them all.
What do you wish for when you see a shooting star? I also feel sorry when kids are sick.

Farewell Mrs Boyer

On Tuesday the 11th of December there was a farewell assembly for Mrs Boyer. All of the classes participated in the assembly. There were 7 groups dedicating their creative dance or song to Mrs Boyer. Families came to the assembly to cheer for their child or children.

My favourite part was when Salelei was dancing with his group. Mrs Boyer was surprised to see her daughter Renee and her grand daughter Ember. After my group and I finished our performance I gave Mrs Boyer her present.

Netbook Reflection 2013

My netbook is very important to my learning because:
It’s easier for me to share my work the the world.  My work saves automatically but I just need to put the Presentation, Document, Spreadsheet, Form and Drawing in to the correct folder. It saves the trees because I don’t use much paper. I like typing better for writing because I use two hands. I like writing on my blog so I get feedback from others. I can comment on other people’s blog posts.

Tahuna Torea

Introduction:Tahuna Torea is at the end of West Tamaki Road, Glendowie. It’s a very special habitat to migration Godwits. There are two lookouts in Tahuna Torea. Many families go to Tahuna Torea to feed the animals. Everyone should look out for the signs to begin your journey. You can go through the bushes quietly because when you bump the trees all of the insects fly up which makes it easier for the fantails to catch their prey. We should always keep the Wetlands so the birds don’t become extinct.

It was as cool as the breeze brushing against my face.
The Pukeko was limping as if a dog has bitten it’s leg.
Mangroves are New Zealand native trees.
Kahikatea is use to make butter containers.
Tahuna Torea is a very beautiful place to visit with our family.
All of the students were noisy like a child screaming up and down the street.
Many birds were not seen by anyone as if someone was playing hide and seek.

Breakers stumble in Perth as Cats come up big

The New Zealand Breakers had their seventh game in Perth on Thursday night. The defeat drops the league-leading. But they started the game very well. Perth's three-game losing skid as they improve to 4-3.
'But it was then the Cats stepped up their game, crashing the boards to earn a succession of second-shot opportunities and getting that trademark swarming defence going to limit the Breakers to just eight points in each of the next two periods. That saw a one-point deficit turned into a 21-point hole heading into the final stanza, and from there the Cats were never going to let that slip in front of another massive home crowd at the new Perth Arena.'

Museum Trip

On Wednesday the 29th of August 2012 the seniors went on a trip to the Auckland Museum. When I got in to the museum I saw a lot of galleries throughout the whole museum.

After we went through the fashion areas we went to the Volcanic area to look at the different kinds of rocks that come out of the volcano. When I finished looking at the different rocks room 10 went into a room with a big screen. Room 10 had to sit down on the ground and watch the news. On the news there was a lady talking to a man to ask him if he knew that the eruption was going to be true or false. There was a large amount of smoke coming towards us in the screen. The building started to tilt. There was a strange noise vibrating  the whole room. The music was getting louder and louder and louder.

In the afternoon room 10 went into the Maori areas to learn about the things we would need  take on a journey to New Zealand in a waka. We also had to learn about the first person who followed an octopus to New Zealand. Our tutors’ names’ are Awhina and Leanne. Just before we went into the Hotunui Marae we had to take our shoes of, to show respect to the teacher and also to the ancestor of the marae. After that Awhina asked Timote what  his name was and what his father’s and grandpa’s name was. Finally Awhina said to room 10 that its lunch time. After that we had to go to the front of the museum to say bye.

Oh No! My friend Malulu just got into the hospital and my school and I are very scared about what is going to happen to him in the hospital. When we found out about Malulu in the hospital from his mother we were so shocked to hear about it. The next day we were told to make him a card for him to make the inside of him feel better instead of him feeling stubbind. Then our principal collected all the cards from each classroom so she could take them up to to the hospital. We hope he can come back to school to do education with us.

Hibiscus

Hibiscus

Hibiscus is one of the most sought after flowering plants. The Hibiscus flower is both huge and delicate, as if they were made out of airy crepe paper. There are many incredible color variations, which range from hot pink to plum. Others are bicolored or have attractive dark veins.Hibiscus plants are divided into two main categories, the tropical flowering hibiscus and the hardy flowering hibiscus family. The tropical hibiscus is not winter hardy in areas outside of climates such as the state of Florida.

The Queens Birthday

The Queens Birthday

Today is the Queens Birthday I am going to be telling you audeince some facts that I know about  the queenof New Zealand.
The Queen was born at 2.40am on 21 April 1926 at 17 Bruton Street in Mayfair, London.  She was the first child of The Duke and Duchess of York, who later became King George VI and Queen Elizabeth. At the time she stood third in line of succession to the throne after Edward, Prince of Wales (later King Edward VIII), and her father, The Duke of York. But it was not expected that her father would become King, or that she would become Queen. The Princess was christened Elizabeth Alexandra Mary in the private chapel at Buckingham Palace. She was named after her mother, while her two middle names are those of her paternal great-grandmother, Queen Alexandra, and paternal grandmother, Queen Mary.
